Fanuc debuts new injection molding machine at FAKUMA 2018

On October 16, the Fakuma International Trade Fair for Plastics Processing opened in Friedrichshafen, Germany. As a world-renowned industrial plastics processing and injection molding technology exhibition, the Fakuma exhibition attracted visitors, experts and corporate decision makers from more than a hundred countries to visit the exhibition. How can we not see it at such a grand event?

FANUC's highlight on Fakuma is its new European injection molding machine Roboshotα-S450iA. So far, this series of models only provide 150-3000kN clamping force. FANUC has now expanded its all-electric injection molding machine range to 4500kN. Two injection units with four different screw sizes meet the market's high flexibility requirements. These machines also have energy recovery control and torque-based metering control. To extend their service life, they are also equipped with mold protection and ejection protection. The production of connectors for infusion parts will be completed by injection molding of complex geometry in Kaibo's 32-cavity mold, which is suitable for large-scale applications that require high accuracy.

FANUC will also demonstrate the highly automated production of small cleanroom production cells. The system partner Robotec Solutions AG's injection molding machine lateral removal automation module (model: Plasticmate) will interact with the Fanuc Robo-shot α-S100iA injection molding machine. A six-axis robot (model: Fanuc LR Mate) equipped with a linear axis takes the molded part out of the temperature-varying mold and performs the assembly process in a production cell together with the CR-7iA robot.

FANUC will show visitors the real-time monitoring of specific quality parameters as well as the status of orders and the status of all machine and robot units at the booth at the IOT Corner-meeting recognized Industry 4.0 requirements. The live demonstration was implemented via the Euromap 77 interface and MES TIG authentic.
