German packaging company Gerresheimer restructured and closed a plant due to fewer orders and two new large orders.
On July 11, the company announced that it had been awarded two new large contracts: one to manufacture inhalers and the other to provide pre-filled syringes to a large heparin producer.
At the same time, the company lost a small order in the inhaler business and led to a restructuring of the company. The company will close its production plant in Küssnacht, Switzerland by the end of 2019.
The German medical supplier is acquiring medical device maker Sensile Medical AG.
Gerresheimer said the acquisition was made under a stock purchase agreement signed on July 11, and its maximum purchase price will be 350 million euros.
