Global and China Superalloy Development Status and Market Prospect Analysis

The type of superalloy is mainly nickel-based deformed superalloy

High-temperature alloys refer to metal materials based on Fe, Ni, and Co that have anti-oxidation and anti-corrosion properties above 600°C and can work for a long time under a certain stress. Superalloys are not only the fuel chambers, guides, turbine blades and turbine discs of aero engines, and other hot end parts, key materials for high-temperature parts of space rocket engines, but also high-temperature corrosion-resistant parts required by industrial gas turbines, energy, and chemical industries. , Is an important material indispensable in the national economy.

Superalloys can be classified according to different forming processes, different alloying elements and strengthening. The superalloys on the market are mainly deformed superalloys with nickel-based elements.

High temperature alloys are mainly used in aerospace

Superalloys are mainly used in the aerospace field and are cutting-edge industrial materials that stand at the tip of the pyramid. In the material industry, superalloys mainly serve the aerospace industry. Due to their excellent high temperature resistance, corrosion resistance, fatigue resistance, etc., they have been applied to power, petroleum and petrochemical, automotive, metallurgy, glass manufacturing, atomic energy and other industrial fields. At present, its largest application is still in the aerospace field, which accounts for 55% of the total usage, followed by the power field (20%) and the mechanical field (10%).

The consumer market for superalloys is mainly distributed in European and American countries

At present, affected by the distribution of the world's aviation manufacturing industry, the world's major consumption of superalloys is concentrated in the more developed countries or regions in the aviation manufacturing industry such as Europe and the United States. The consumption of superalloys in China and other places is relatively small. Especially in the United States where the aviation manufacturing industry is the most developed. According to statistics, in 2019, the United States accounted for 48% of the world's superalloy consumer market; followed by Europe, accounting for 25%; Asia's consumption accounted for about 22%, and other regions accounted for 5%.

High demand for superalloys in China, civil aviation has become a growth engine

In the ranking of enterprise production capacity, LNFS Special Steel Technology Group 5,000 tons/year occupied the top spot. In 2019, BJGY Superalloy Technology Group ranked first in related operating income, which was 1.446 billion yuan. BJGY has more than 90 kinds of deformed superalloys and more than 10 kinds of powdered superalloys, all of which account for more than 80% of this type of alloy in China. Among the 201 grades included in the latest publication of "China Superalloy Handbook", BJGY takes the lead in the research and development of 114, accounting for 56% of the total number of grades.

In addition to military aviation development in the aviation sector, with the gradual maturity of China's domestically produced large commercial aircraft, the domestic civil aviation market with an average annual demand of 356 billion yuan for superalloys will be opened in the next 20 years. According to COMAC's Civil Aircraft Market Forecast Annual Report for 2019-2038, the Chinese aviation market is expected to receive 9,205 passenger aircraft with more than 50 seats in the next two years. Benefiting from the speed of civil aircraft construction in the future, the forward-looking preliminary estimates that China's superalloy market will maintain a growth rate of more than 30% in 2020-2025, reaching about 85.6 billion yuan by 2025.
