Gurit announced that it will split the composites business unit into wind energy and marine and industrial materials. From May 1, 2020, Lance Hill, now the sales director of the Americas, has been promoted to general manager of marine and industrial materials. A new position of general manager of wind energy materials is currently being sought and will be announced in due course.
Because the business nature of the wind energy industry is different from that of ships and industrial activities, Gurit decided to split its composite materials business. Organizations focusing on these two target markets will allow Gurit to further increase customer focus and support, thereby achieving stronger business growth. Both business units will continue to use all materials.
Lance Hill joined Gurit in 2009 and is currently the director of Gurit's Americas. Previously, he held positions in the composites industry. Lance Hill is British and has an MBA degree from the University of Birmingham. He will move from the United States to Europe for his new position.
Before Stefan Gautschi will leave Gurit in June 2020, Rudolf Hadorn will be in charge of the wind energy business unit until the new general manager of wind energy materials takes office.
