Victrex, a specialist in high-performance polyetheretherketone thermoplastic composites, has recently received a new tool to aid design and manufacturing technology that can bring significant improvements to resin molding.
The "Production to Function Specification" (PtFS) system developed by the British Surface Generation Company uses hardware and software to manage multiple component areas during processing and reduce energy consumption, injection processing pressure and cycle time.
Victrex said that due to the distribution of heating and cooling areas in the prior art, it may be limited by the traditional mold design used in injection or compression molding, and the complex parts the company hopes to produce are also limited.
