Unlike traditional metal parts that are mainly machined by turning, radial forging transmits high forces through surface contact, changes the diameter of the workpiece through deformation, and easily controls the shape and size of the workpiece, avoiding metal waste generated by chip processing and shape errors caused by high temperatures.

In 2013, JSCQ purchased precision forging machines imported from Germany and built the first radial precision cold forging hollow shaft production line. In 2014, the company successfully developed a forged hollow shaft and entered the supply chain of Nexteer Automotive Systems.

 

New Process: Independent Innovation
In Europe and America, precision cold forging to manufacture a hollow shaft requires 5 cold forging processes to be qualified. JSCQ’s technology and production process team, after dozens of research and experiments, has shortened the original five foreign processes to three processes, reducing manufacturing costs by more than 20%, and achieving the localization of low-carbon steel materials for hollow steering shafts.

 

In 2023, it achieved annual sales of 10 million units, with a market share of about 24%, ranking third in China’s market share.
