Huneed Technologies, a global aviation component manufacturer such as Boeing and Airbus, establishes 3D printing research center for aviation parts

South Korea's Huneed Technologies has opened a research center to explore how 3D printing technology can be used in the production of aviation parts.

On March 5th, the company's additive manufacturing technology center established in cooperation with German 3D printing giant EOS Optical Systems (Electro Optical Systems) held an opening ceremony at the headquarters of Haned Technology in Incheon. Attendees included Eugene Kim, chairman of Hanid Technologies, Bertrand Humeel Vandri, chief customer operating officer of EOS, and officials from Boeing and Korea Aviation Industry Corporation.

The center will focus on research and development of cutting-edge 3D printing technology for the aerospace and defense industry, and equip 3D printers with first-class quality assurance tools such as all-optical tomography and powder management equipment called IPCM-M Pro. The company has partnered with German EOS to improve its position as an international manufacturer in the fast-growing aviation parts market. In addition, the company is supplying parts to global aviation manufacturers such as Boeing and Airbus.
