ISO 10119:2002-Carbon fibre-Determination of density standard compilation unit developed

Recently, the State Intellectual Property Office of China officially issued the decision on the award of the 21st China Patent Award. The invention patent completed by the NJBX Glass Fiber Technology Research Institute "a high-permeability non-woven fabric coated filter material and its preparation The method and its laminating device" (patent number ZL201310542807.3) won the Chinese Patent Gold Award!

The patent that won the gold medal this time belongs to the basic patent, inventing the non-woven fabric coated filter material, which effectively solves the problem of ultra-low emission of industrial smoke and fine particles, and realizes the high efficiency, low resistance and long life of the filter material. The traditional woven fabric coated filter material technology has been blocked by foreign countries. After more than ten years of research, the NJBX research team has developed a non-woven fabric coated filter material. Related products have been exported to many countries to achieve the performance of the original coated product The upgrading has promoted the independent innovation and technological progress of environmental protection materials, met the increasingly stringent emission standards requirements of the environmental protection industry, and escorted the country's sustainable development of green environmental protection.

NJBX hosted the completion of international carbon fiber standards

NJBX has formulated and revised 24 international standards. Recently, there has been good news. The first carbon fiber international standard ISO 10119:2002-Carbon fibre-Determination of density completed by China was officially published by the ISO Central Secretariat. The standard is hosted by the Nanjing Fiberglass Research Institute under China National Building Materials Group. The project is supported and funded by the National Quality Basic Common Technology Research and Application (NQI) project.

There are three methods for measuring the density of carbon fiber in the world: the density gradient column method, the float-sink method and the liquid displacement method. The three methods have a common feature that they need to use organic solvents, causing environmental pollution, and the test efficiency is low. Batch testing. At the 66th plenary meeting of the ISO/TC61 International Organization for Standardization Plastics Technical Committee held in Daejeon, South Korea in 2017, NJBX, on behalf of China, proposed to the ISO/TC61/SC13 "Reinforced Fiber and Composite Materials Sub-Committee" to add a new international standard Proposal for the method of testing the density of carbon fiber-gas volume method. After presentations and defenses at the meeting, the proposal was successfully approved and the meeting decided that China would lead the work of this project.

Under the background that there was no mature method for measuring carbon fiber density by gas volume method in the world, the NJBX project team carefully formulated the work plan and research route, from the principle of the method, the investigation of commercial instruments, the sample preparation, and the accuracy of the measurement results. And the influencing factors of correctness. On the basis of extensive research work and experimental verification, NJBX completed the drafting of ISO/CD 10119 "Determination of Carbon Fiber Density" in March 2018, and drafted the draft at the ISO/TC61/SC13 meeting held in Saitama, Japan in 2018. The technical content and the results of the verification test were reported, focusing on the accuracy of the gas pycnometer method to determine the carbon fiber density, the main factors affecting the test results, the gas pycnometer method and the density gradient column method (recommended methods in the original standard) The results of domestic comparative tests were reported to experts from various countries.

Due to the sufficient experimental data, rigorous text of the draft, and complete discussion, the standard passed the defense smoothly, and the draft entered the DIS voting stage from the CD draft. NJBX has also made serious amendments to the draft text, especially careful scrutiny on the accuracy and expression of English words. After entering the DIS voting, experts from various countries almost did not comment on the text, which made the standard formulation process skip the FDIS stage and the DIS directly sent it to the ISO Central Secretariat for printing and publishing.

The gas volume method uses inert gas instead of liquid to accurately and reliably determine the density of fibers, powders and other materials. It is based on Boyle's law. The volume of a closed gas decreases in proportion to the increase in pressure. Inert gases such as nitrogen and helium It has the performance of an ideal gas at room temperature. By passing inert gas into two chambers of known volume, two pressures are precisely measured, and the volume of the sample is determined according to the change of gas pressure to obtain its density. The biggest advantage of this method is that it does not use organic solvents, which can reduce environmental pollution. At the same time, it has high testing efficiency, can realize batch testing, fully automated operation, small human influence, and high accuracy.

The release of this standard is an important achievement in the work of NJBX as the secretariat unit of the National Carbon Fiber Standards Committee and the national new material testing and evaluation platform composite material industry center project undertaker. It will further promote the quality control and performance testing of carbon fiber products. Development has positive practical significance.
