It aims to integrate international and domestic innovation resources in the field of new materials, and strengthen government-industry-research collaboration. Promote China's new material industry to extend to the mid-to-high end of the value chain. The fixed site of the center is located in the Yangtze River Delta International R & D Community Start-up Zone in Suzhou High-speed Rail New City, with a construction area of ​​80,000 square meters. It is planned to be officially put into use in 2020.

Gu Haidong, Secretary of the Xiangcheng District Committee of Suzhou City, said that the launch of the Jiangsu Advanced Materials Technology Innovation Center is another major achievement of the cooperation between Xiangcheng District and Jiangsu Industrial Technology Research Institute, which has injected new development into the development of Xiangcheng District ’s R & D industry and even domestic advanced materials technology innovation vitality. Xiangcheng will focus on building a “one core, three bases and multiple points” industrial layout with spatial dislocation and complementary functions to help the high-quality development of the new material industry.

Liu Qing, president of the Jiangsu Institute of Industrial Technology, said that the center will use three years to build an internationally influential advanced material technology center with a staff size of about 2,000 people and an industrial scale of more than 2 billion. Provide technical support for Jiangsu's R & D industry.

At present, Xiangcheng High Starting Point implements the city functional zone and industrial functional zone planning. The Yangtze River Delta international R & D community located in the middle of the high-speed rail new city will gather more than 100,000 high-tech R & D talents in the next 5-8 years. There are more than 500 high-tech R & D projects, 78 high-level talent teams, and 28 innovation platforms in the institutes and universities. Twelve distinctive international R & D communities including new materials, optoelectronic information, biomedicine, and artificial intelligence have been deployed.
