Johnson Controls: officially withdraws from auto parts industry after Honeywell

At 9 a.m. EST on November 13, 2018, Johnson Controls, a world-renowned auto parts manufacturer, announced that it will package its battery business for sale to Canadian venture capital company Brookfield Business Partners L.P.


Johnson Controls has two major businesses: building systems and automotive batteries. The building system includes four business units: building air-conditioning system, building intelligent management system, fire protection solution and installation service. The automotive battery business mainly includes the world-renowned Varta lead-acid batteries, 12V high-performance AGM lithium batteries for start-stop systems, lithium batteries for 48V light hybrids, and high-voltage lithium batteries for strong hybrids.
