Ascend Performance Materials has announced that it plans to launch several new specialty polyamides at K 2019 to meet increasingly demanding customer needs. These new products include Vydyne® XHT, long-chain polyamides and high-temperature polyamides.
Vydyne® XHT is a new combination of long-lasting, high-temperature resistant polyamide 66 (PA66) and derivative copolymers capable of withstanding long-term operating temperatures up to 230 ° C. By combining unique polymer chemistry with multi-stage thermal stabilization technology, XHT products break the limits of PA66's long-term high temperature resistance and maintain the well-known excellent processability, durability and mechanical properties of PA66.
"For engine compartment applications, consistent high temperature resistance is essential so that it can adapt to a variety of loads, torques and speeds in the engine." "We develop Vydyne ®XHT is designed to help our customers to widen the processing window and meet customer requirements to achieve higher efficiency in the relatively limited processing conditions and insufficient performance brought by the use of existing products. "
The Vydyne® XHT product line includes four glass-reinforced grades that are ideal for demanding automotive applications such as intercoolers, integrated intake manifolds, exhaust gas recirculators, and resonators. All XHT products have excellent fluidity and are recyclable, and the gate material can be reprocessed to improve production efficiency.
Ascend will also introduce the new PA610 and PA612 long-chain polyamide product portfolio. Long-chain polyamide products have low hygroscopicity and excellent chemical and UV resistance, making them suitable for a variety of applications, including monofilaments, battery seals, specialty cable ties, automotive cooling and fuel connection pipes, and sports products.
