Aiming at the mid-to-late stage of oilfield development, metal sucker rods have large lifting loads, high energy consumption, limited depth, and short maintenance-free periods. The Institute of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering has carried out "Carbon Fiber Pumping Rod Application Technology Research" since 2014, 2016 The "Carbon Fiber Continuous Sucker Rod Application Optimization Supporting Technology Research" was carried out in the year, making full use of the advantages of carbon fiber materials to form a mature focus on carbon rod manufacturing, connection, operation, lifting system optimization, special lifting equipment, and application supporting mode as the core Applied technology system, and formed four application modes: deep pumping, production increase, large pump liquid extraction, anticorrosion and life extension, load reduction and energy saving. As of the end of 2018, carbon fiber technology has been tested in 459 wells in Shengli, Northwest, and Central Plains oilfields. The use of carbon rods of 760,000 meters has resulted in a cumulative oil increase of 98,600 tons and a cumulative power saving of 13.62 million kilowatt hours. The average pump inspection period of corroded wells was extended by 1.5 times, and the direct economic benefit was 245 million yuan.

In the next step, the project team will continue to deepen the research on the overall application technology of the carbon rod block centered on the construction of efficient demonstration zones, increase the proportion of carbon rod lifting in the development of block benefits, and improve its adaptability to internal and external oil fields.
