LM Wind Power Announces Supply of 5MW Offshore Wind Turbine Blades to China Shipbuilding Industry Offshore Wind Power in China

LM Wind Power announced that it has reached a strategic cooperation with Chinese wind turbine manufacturer CSIC Offshore Wind Power to supply blades for its newly released H151-5.0MW wind turbine.

The blades will be produced at the LM Wind Power Jiangyin plant China. The first set is expected to be hoisted at Rudong Wind Farm in the fourth quarter of 2016.

The news was announced at the 2016 Beijing International Wind Energy Conference and Exhibition China Shipbuilding Industry Offshore Wind Power Product Launch Conference. At the same time, CSIC Offshore Wind Power obtained the type certification certificate for the new offshore wind turbine at the conference.

LM Wind Power CEO MarcdeJong also participated in the event. He said: "I am very pleased to work with CSSC Offshore Wind Power, a pioneer and leader in the development of China's offshore wind power market, to support their new offshore wind turbines. This cooperation will further strengthen LM Wind Power in China. The growth of the market confirms that highly reliable and efficient blades are one of the key factors for success in the fast-growing offshore wind market. "

"With the advanced technical advantages of LM Wind Power, highly reliable production and long-term record of successful supply of offshore wind power blades, China Shipbuilding Industry Offshore Wind Power is committed to becoming a leader in China's offshore wind power development. Why chose Elm Wind Energy The reliability and quality of the blades are really important in the offshore wind power field. "Zhang Haiya, deputy director of China Shipbuilding Industry Offshore Wind Power R & D Center, commented.

In 2013, two sets of wind turbine prototypes equipped with LM Wind Power wind blades were installed in Rudong Wind Farm, Jiangsu Province. The successful operation and superior performance of the prototype have paved the way for the long-term cooperation between the two companies now announced.

China has decided to vigorously develop offshore wind power in the next few years. The “13th Five-Year Plan” issued by the Chinese government sets an offshore installed capacity of more than 5GW by 2020. About 1GW has been installed so far. In the next 5 years, if you want to achieve this goal, you still need the vigorous promotion of major manufacturers.
