McLaren Motors has handed over its keys to the New Composite Technology Center (MCTC) in Yorkshire, which will eventually produce carbon barrels at the center of its sports car, supercar and supercar series.

According to the company, once equipped with the appropriate hardware, its new equipment will increase production efficiency for its lightweight and rugged MonoCage and MonoCell chassis.

"The building that got the key will house the McLaren Composites Technology Center is an important milestone in our next chapter of our growth as a young, ambitious and innovative enterprise," Ruthnick Aoidh, used to Executive Director of Commercial and McLaren Automotive.

"This is also an important day for supporting and sharing our ambitious plan to make the Sheffield area the owner, organization and supplier of McLaren's second production base,"

She added: "In the coming months, the center will be equipped with the production equipment we need to start full operation next year and support hundreds of skilled jobs."

Currently, there are 45 people working on the new MCTC, but will eventually accommodate a team of about 200 people. After the carbon cylinders produced in Yorkshire are completed, they will be transferred to Woking for final assembly at the McLaren main plant. Technology Center.

Since the introduction of the MP4-12C, McLaren has made carbon fiber the core of its appeal. From the "entry-level" 540C to the breathtaking Senna and P1, all of its cars are built around a carbon passenger cabin.
