To increase the supply of high-purity OLED materials, Merck invested 20 million euros in production facilities in South Korea.
Merck has signed an MOU with Pyeongtaek, South Korea, and plans to invest 20 million euros in an OLED manufacturing facility in Pusheng, Gyeonggi for expansion.
Merck said: Through this investment, it can increase OLED manufacturing capacity in South Korea. Plans to add OLED sublimation purification equipment. By improving local manufacturing capacity, it can provide Asian panel manufacturers with high-purity OLED materials and increase Merck`s reputation.
Merck plans to use 20 million euros for the construction of a modular sublimation purification equipment system that is more convenient to add. The sublimation purification process is one of the core processes to ensure the quality of high-purity OLED materials. In 2015, Merck also opened the OLED Application Center (OAC) in Pyeongtaek, Gyeonggi.
Relevant persons at Merck said: OLED panel technology products of new forms such as foldable and rollable are successively listed. In order to respond to the demand for high-purity OLED materials in a timely manner, Merck continues to expand OLED manufacturing capacity in Asia. OLED is the fastest growing technology in the next-generation panel technology, and Merck emphasizes that it will contribute to the enhancement of the competitiveness of the Korean panel industry.
