Metal 3D printing company Aurora Labs and mining industry group Worley Parsons form joint venture AdditiveNow for energy industry

Aurora Labs announced that it has reached an agreement with mega engineering and mining services group Worley Parsons to form a combined 3D printing and consulting joint venture called AdditiveNow.

AdditiveNow aims to provide a complete set of additive manufacturing services, primarily for oil and gas, mining and major infrastructure customers. Aurora Labs specializes in the development of metal 3D printers, powders, digital parts and their related intellectual property.

AdditiveNow's services include assisting customers to increase manufacturing plans and optimization studies, improve operability and manufacturability to increase efficiency. The joint venture will provide customers with engineering services related to additive manufacturing, such as part design, custom metal 3D printing, part optimization and part certification services.

More specifically, the joint venture will provide customers with part design / analysis services until the final production and deployment of these parts to achieve optimal part design, thereby reducing costs and improving overall performance.

"The finalization of this joint venture is an important step forward for Aurora Labs and the entire 3D printing industry," commented David Budge, MD, Aurora Labs. "We look forward to helping us with new and broader 3D printing solutions. Customer networks find business advantages, especially in the areas of mining, oil and gas, and major infrastructure.

We have identified and initiated discussions with specific customers to increase efficiency opportunities, reduce their capital investment in spare parts and inventory, and possibly replace all aspects of the traditional supply chain with metal 3D printing technology. This has the potential to reduce inventory holding costs, lead times for freight and manufacturing.
