MHI Vestas Japan[a new joint venture between Mitsubishi Heavy Industries and Vestas]begins operations

Starting from February 1, 2021, MHI Vestas Japan Co., Ltd. (MHI Vestas Japan Co.) is a new joint venture established by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Japan Co., Ltd. (MHI) and Vestas Wind Systems (Vestas) of Denmark. , Ltd.) began operations to strengthen the market influence of the two partners in the field of renewable energy, mainly wind turbines. The new company will be responsible for the marketing of onshore and offshore wind turbines in Japan.

Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Vestas Japan is headquartered in Chiyoda-ku, central Tokyo. Masato Yamada, former Asia Pacific manager of MHI Vestas Offshore Wind, will serve as CEO of the new company; Henrik Andersen, President and CEO of Denmark Vestas Wind Systems, and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Energy Business Kentaro Hosomi, President and CEO of the Division, will serve as a director of the new company. The new joint venture will hold 70% of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI) and 30% of Vestas (Vestas).

With the establishment of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Vestas Japan, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries and Vestas hope to further utilize the technology and experience established by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Vestas Offshore Wind Power. In addition to helping expand the use of onshore and offshore wind power, the new joint venture will also integrate the outstanding technical capabilities and rich experience of both parties to accelerate the global decarbonization plan.
