Nikkiso delivers Airbus A320neo carbon fiber composite engine compartment components for the first time

Nikkiso has transferred production of its aircraft "Cascade" to the Miyazaki plant. On March 25, the Miyazaki Plant completed the production of the first batch of goods and held the first shipment ceremony.

The "cascade" is an aircraft engine compartment component made of carbon fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP), which is important for controlling the thrust flow and allows the aircraft to land safely and efficiently. In addition to the aircraft's braking system, the thrust reverser system in the engine compartment allows the aircraft to land within a short distance. Since the first delivery of composite cascades in 1983, Nikkiso has gradually occupied 90% of the global composite cascade market.

The Nikkiso plant was completed in October 2018. The plant was built to meet the current large demand for cascades in the global aircraft market. The first shipment of the CFRP cascade manufactured at the Miyazaki plant was the Airbus A320 neo, and the plant also plans to deliver engine compartment components for the Boeing project in April.

The mission of the Nikkiso Miyazaki plant is mainly on advanced manufacturing engineering, and it is committed to acquiring various types of aircraft component projects, while continuing to deliver high-quality and timely delivery of the core product of the Nippon Aircraft business-the "cascade".
