Ascend, a nylon 66 resin maker, announced on August 1 that it had acquired the Dutch engineering plastics compounder Britannia Techno Polymer (BPT). Financial details were not disclosed.
BTP was founded in 2006 and specializes in the production of nylon 6, 66 and 66/6 copolymers, ABS, PC and PP blends. Prior to the acquisition, Ascend established a fruitful long-term relationship with BPT.
In 1997, Solutia left the Monsanto Chemical Division, which includes the production of nylon 6.
