OceanGate announced that it plans to use its carbon fiber and titanium alloy materials to design and build two new submersibles: Cyclops 3 and Cyclops 4

OceanGate is planning to build two new carbon fiber composite submersibles, Cyclops 3 and 4, with a rated height of 6,000 meters.

OceanGate (Everett, Washington, USA) announced this week that it plans to use its carbon fiber and titanium designs to build two new submarines, called Cyclops 3 and Cyclops 4, to meet the growing expedition to ocean-going manned submersibles Research and business needs. The company said it has started construction of two new submersibles, which are rated at 6,000 meters. According to reports, OceanGate is also discussing the project with two aviation carbon fiber suppliers and manufacturers.

The demand for the "Titanic" mission continues to grow, and deep sea research and environmental monitoring of deep sea mining have further strengthened the business case for increasing diving capabilities. Using a new aerospace manufacturer and ensuring aerospace-level quality and control, it will use the same carbon fiber thickness as the Titan (Cyclops 2) to provide a depth capability of 6,000 meters and enable the new OceanGate submersible to reach 98% Ocean, said Stockton Rush, CEO of OceanGate. "Our second Cyclops Titan not only verified the design of carbon fiber and titanium, but also verified the OceanGate real-time hull health monitoring system."

According to Rush, OceanGate's demand for submersibles is increasing, including its "Titanic Survey Expeditions", which bring tourists to the shipwreck of the Titanic.

Rush said: "Mission experts and partners are supporting our search, which not only makes science, government and business organizations, but also citizen explorers, makes deep-sea exploration safer, accessible, usable and affordable."

When these two new types of submersibles are put into production, OceanGate diving operations will continue throughout 2020, using its existing three five-member submersibles Titan, Cyclops 1, and Antipodes.
