The Laiyang-Kunji 500-kilovolt line project, starting at the 500-kilovolt Laiyang substation and ending at the 500-kilovolt Kunyu substation, is one of the first seven demonstration projects of carbon fiber conductors in China. The total length of the line is 122.842 kilometers. It passes through Laiyang and Haiyang in Yantai, Rushan and Wendeng in Weihai to form a total of 292 base towers. The entire line uses 4 × JLRX1 / F1A-710 / 55 carbon fiber composite core conductors, and the conductor cross section is 710 mm . Among the first seven demonstration projects of carbon fiber conductors in the country, the Laiyang-Kunming 500 kV line project has the longest construction distance, the largest conductor cross section, and the most difficult construction in mountainous areas.
