Osram: Ledvance acquisition process as expected

In response to a recent report from the German media regarding the obstruction of the Chinese acquisition of Osram's Ledvance, LEDinside had stated at the time that it was not "vetoed" but provided the information required for official review.

On November 2nd, the Osram WeChat account (OSRAM China Lighting) also issued a notice to clarify that the review of the acquisition case has its established process, which includes obtaining a license from the German Federal Ministry of Economic Affairs and Energy. The whole process is the same as expected, but some media have produced many false rumors about the review process.

Osram's official WeChat announcement is as follows:

German companies must go through a certain control process to obtain approval when conducting transactions with cross-border transaction objects. One of them is getting permission from the Federal Ministry of Economic Affairs and Energy.

At present, some media have begun to speculate on the approval results and generate rumors. Confirmed with the Federal Ministry of Economic Affairs and Energy that they are reviewing transactions in accordance with standard procedures. The whole process is in line with our previous expectations. We are working closely with the relevant departments and will announce it as soon as there is news.
