Pierburg, a subsidiary of Rheinmetall, an expert in the manufacture of highly complex aluminum castings, received an order worth over 100 million euros

Huayu Pierburg Nonferrous Components (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. (KPSNC), a joint venture of Rheinmetall Automotive AG in China, , has recently won an oversized order from a world-renowned OEM to provide motor housings for new energy electric vehicles. This product can be used for four different power levels. The water-cooled synchronous motor will be widely used in all new energy models of the OEM.

The project will be mass-produced at Huayu Pierburg Nonferrous Components (Shanghai) Co., Ltd., Anhui Guangde Plant in June 2023. The project life cycle sales will exceed 100 million Euros, and the supply period will be five to six years. The Guangde plant will cover the complete process of casting and finishing.

For decades, Rheinmetall Automotive has been an expert in the manufacture of highly complex aluminum castings in the field of aluminum casting. With the help of Kolbenschmidt Huayu Aluminum Technology Co., Ltd. in Germany and Huayu Pierburg Nonferrous Metals in China Parts (Shanghai), KPSNC is now also introducing its rich expertise into the growing market for new energy electric vehicles. This new electric drive method requires a large number of brand-new parts, such as battery casings or electric motors, all of which require castings and complex processes. At the same time, due to the high self-weight of the battery in electric vehicles, the lightweight requirements for other parts are more stringent. In addition to light steel materials, KPSNC also mainly uses aluminum shells to achieve light weight.
