Russian BPL Snowboard company develops new snowboard made of triaxial basalt fiber fabric

Russian BPL Snowboard Company has developed a new type of snowboard that uses triaxial basalt fiber fabric instead of glass fiber fabric. The first samples have been field tested this spring, so the company has the opportunity to start mass production next winter.

According to a BPL Snowboard spokesperson, basalt fiber fabrics perform better than glass fiber fabrics. These skis can guarantee ecological safety in production, but replacing glass fiber fabric with basalt fiber fabric will not affect the cost of the finished product.

The basalt fiber fabric of the test article was provided by the Russian basalt fiber company. BPL Snowboard announced on its Facebook page:

This is our first basalt fiber product! !!

In these snowboards, triaxial basalt fiber fabrics completely replace glass fiber fabrics!

This is a product made after a long experiment!

Thanks to our friends, Russian Basalt Fiber and CBG, for their help, the experiment is finally complete!

Sports equipment manufacturers are increasingly experimenting with basalt fibers. For example, Lib Tech has been producing basalt fiber composite surfboards and snowboards for several years.

Sports enthusiasts and serial producers successfully use basalt fiber to make canoes, yachts, bicycles, sleighs, tennis rackets and even ski jackets. According to analysts, by 2021, the value of the composite sports market will reach nearly $ 4 billion, of which basalt fiber will play a greater role.
