Sinopec quickly built 10 polypropylene melt-blown cloth production lines to accelerate the formation of new KN95 and medical mask production capacity

On February 24th, in view of the severe global Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic prevention and control situation and the shortage of polypropylene melt-blown cloth for the core material of masks, Sinopec took advantage of its own raw material production, immediately organized the supply of goods, and quickly built 10 Propylene melt-blown cloth production line.

Polypropylene meltblown cloth is the "core filter material" of the mask. It is used for the filter layer in the middle of medical masks. It has good filterability, barrier properties, thermal insulation and adsorption. Sinopec will actively carry out industry chain cooperation, accelerate the pace of direct production of melt-blown materials, melt-blown cloth and masks, and form new medical mask materials and mask production capacity as soon as possible.

It is understood that Sinopec will invest about 200 million yuan this time to speed up the construction of polypropylene melt-blown non-woven fabric (ie melt-blown fabric) and spun-bonded fabric production lines in Beijing Yanshan Petrochemical and Jiangsu Yizheng Chemical Fiber. Beijing Yanshan Petrochemical will build 2 melt-blown cloth production lines and 3 spun-bonded cloth production lines, which can produce 4 tons of N95 polypropylene melt-blown cloth or 6 tons of medical plane mask melt-blown cloth per day. × 300,000 pieces / ton) N95 masks, or 6 million pieces (6 tons × 1 million pieces / ton) medical plane masks. In addition to meltblown fabrics, 42 tons of spunbond fabrics can be produced every day. Spunbond fabrics are used for the inner and outer layers of masks, and have the characteristics of anti-ultraviolet, stability, good permeability and corrosion resistance. The project strives to achieve partial production of meltblown fabrics on March 8.

Yizheng Chemical Fiber will build 8 polypropylene melt-blown cloth production lines, which can produce 8 tons of N95 melt-blown cloth every day, or produce 12 tons of medical flat mask raw materials. These raw materials can produce 2.4 million N95 masks, or 12 million medical flat masks . The project will be completed and put into production in mid-April.
