SK Innovation launches 800km battery life, fast charging for 20 minutes

South Korean battery manufacturer SK Innovation revealed on Thursday that the electric vehicle battery it is developing can cover more than 500 miles (800 kilometers) with only two 10-minute fast charging.

The announcement was made at a battery technology trade conference sponsored by the Korean government and did not include any details on the chemical composition used in the new battery. But it does say that the realization of long-range battery uses high-density nickel, which can adapt to more than 1,000 charge/discharge cycles.

The supplier stated that it has decided to focus its development on "long-life batteries that can achieve long-distance driving" and revealed a new "SK Inside" brand strategy at the beginning of this year to increase visibility.

SK Innovation is building two factory complexes in Georgia, which will provide batteries for up to 300,000 vehicles, including Volkswagen ID.4, which will be produced in Chattanooga in 2022, and Ford F, which will be produced in Michigan in 2022. -150 electric vehicles.
