The ISO/TC256 international standard proposal prepared by the Chinese nano pyrogenic silica powder manufacturer was reviewed and passed successfully at the annual meeting Hay:B04HBHF

From October 14th to 16th, 2020, the 11th plenary meeting of ISO/TC256 and various working group meetings were held in Zhenjiang, China. Due to Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic

The impact of this meeting was connected with foreign representatives and held in the form of a video network conference. Before the meeting, Chinese representatives held a domestic seminar on international standards for pigments and nanomaterials. At the meeting, the six research projects hosted by China all passed the review and entered the next round of work. The three new standard proposals put forward by the Chinese delegation were successfully passed at this meeting.

Among them, HBHF Nanomaterials Technology Group presided over the "Determination of Silicon Hydroxyl Content on Fumed Silica Surface—Reactive Gas Chromatography" ISO international standard draft smoothly entered the DIS stage, and the tracking status was changed from technical specifications to international standards; HBHF wholly-owned subsidiary Two international standard proposals of the company's GZHF Research Institute Co., Ltd. were reviewed and passed smoothly at the annual meeting.

According to Wu Chunlei, general manager of GZHF Research Institute Co., Ltd., "Determination of Silane Hydroxyl Content on Surface of Fumed Silica-Reactive Gas Chromatography" was completed after HBHF completed the international standard task of "ISO 18473-3 Fumed Silica for Silicone Rubber" in 2018. It also undertakes another heavyweight international standard task. This international standard was led by Wang Yuelin, chairman of HBHF, and Wu Chunlei, GZHF Research Institute Co., Ltd., as the deputy team leader. The project was reported at the 10th plenary meeting of Germany in October 2018 and registered as PWI23157.

After two years of hard work, with the full support and assistance of many units such as the Beijing Physical and Chemical Analysis and Testing Center, the laboratory comparison was completed, and the data analysis and accuracy determination were completed, which was completed in April 2020. Working group draft. In July 2020, ISO initiated a working group vote from WD to DIS. The project finally passed with 13 votes in favor and 0 votes against.

In the process of formulating the international standard "ISO18473-3:2018 Fumed Silica for Silicone Rubber", there is an important indicator that affects the performance of silicone rubber: the determination of the silanol content on the surface of fumed silica is subject to testing without suitable methods. Not included in the standard technical requirements. However, the silanol content on the surface of fumed silica has a certain effect on the processing performance, mechanical properties, transparency and dielectric properties of silicone rubber. Therefore, further exploration of the determination method of the silanol content on the surface of fumed silica has a more detailed understanding. The surface properties of fumed silica, the surface modification of nano-powders, the improvement of its dispersion in silicone rubber, the improvement of the overall performance of silicone rubber, and the promotion of downstream applications are of great significance and positive influence.

The "Determination of Silicon Hydroxyl Content on the Surface of Fumed Silica-Reactive Gas Chromatography" project will be available for DIS voting this year and is expected to be officially published in 2021. The smooth progress of the project will further promote the development of China's gas-silicon strategy and enhance the position of domestically produced fumed silica in the international market, which is of extremely important and far-reaching significance.

At the same time, the "Determination of "Soluble" Metal Content in Coatings—Inductively Coupled Plasma Optical Emission Spectrometry (ICP-OES) and Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry (ICP-OES)" proposed by GZHF Research Institute Co., Ltd. and Beijing Physical and Chemical Analysis and Testing Center -MS)" and the GZHF Research Institute Co., Ltd. proposed "Vapour-phase Alumina for Coatings" two standards were successfully passed in the 11th annual meeting of ISO/TC256, and are initially expected to be completed within three years.

In addition, at the plenary meeting, Wang Yuelin, the chief promotion officer of ISO/TC256 in China, made an annual report on the promotion of ISO/TC256 in China. HBHF Chairman Wang Yuelin introduced in detail the work of ISO/TC256 China Promotion and Promotion Office in the promotion of international standardization in the past year. He said that although various technical exchanges, forums and other activities have fallen sharply due to the impact of the epidemic, the ISO/TC256 Promotion and Promotion Office has still done fruitful work, specifically in the following five aspects:

1. The international standardization work was promoted in six domestic seminars;

2. Organized a seminar on international standards in China;

3. Actively promote the transformation of ISO18473-3 into Chinese industry standards and group standards;

4. Released 65 pieces of information on ISO/TC256 dynamics, ISO and Chinese standard policies, standard knowledge and stories on the WeChat public account of the ISO/TC256 Promotion and Promotion Office, which has been read more than 7000 times;

5. Actively organize domestic units to participate in national standardization affairs.

Finally, he also introduced the work plan for the next year and continued to promote ISO/TC256 in four aspects:

1. Promote ISO/TC256 and related standards on different occasions;

2. Propose more new projects in ISO/TC256 and promote projects under research;

3. Organize a seminar on pigments and nanomaterials standards;

4. Invite more experts and companies to participate in ISO/TC256 activities.

The report was highly affirmed by the chairman and all participants. Through the above promotion activities, not only can the Chinese representatives effectively stimulate the enthusiasm of the Chinese representatives to participate in ISO/TC256 activities, but also make China's international standardization work more innovative and continuous breakthroughs.

It is reported that HBH, as the leading gas-phase nano-powder material manufacturer in China, has successfully led the technological development of the gas-phase nano-powder material industry in China, and has also made outstanding achievements in the standardization of fumed silica products.

At present, HBH has presided over the formulation of 1 international standard, 1 international standard under development, 1 national standard revision, and 2 group standards. Prior to this, the international standard "Fused Silica for Silicone Rubber" drafted by Chairman Wang Yuelin as the project leader has been formally approved for release.
