Teijin Group's carbon fiber business in Europe Teijin Carbon Europe increased its production capacity of chopped carbon fiber Tenax®-EHT C604 6mm produced in Germany by 40%. Therefore, the company responds to the increasing demand of European electronics manufacturers in recent years and the current increase in demand for medical device compounds.
The success of the German chopped carbon fiber product C604 is based on its quality, which enables the production of advanced composites (carbon fiber reinforced plastic particles) with excellent mechanical properties and good electrical conductivity.
In recent years, the demand for C604 has been increasing. So far, it has basically met the needs of European customers. It delivers the same product type produced by the Teijin Mishima plant in Japan. With the enhancement of German capabilities, Teijin can now respond more flexibly to inquiries in the European market.
Other product types of Tenax® staple fiber (shredded, granulated or ground) are currently produced in factories in Japan and the United States. In addition to thermoplastic materials, thermosetting materials and water-based processes, they also provide rubber compounds of various sizes.
