On January 13, 2021, the battery material mesocarbon microsphere production line invested by China's leading needle coke manufacturer HLBT Advanced Materials Technology Group officially began commercial production.
Needle coke is an important raw material for the production of lithium battery anode materials and high-power and ultra-high-power graphite electrodes. The downstream application industries are mainly lithium-ion power batteries for electric vehicles, energy storage batteries, consumer batteries, and electric arc furnace steelmaking.
