A few days ago, Hexcel of the United States announced that its HexPly M9 prepreg has been certified by DNV GL. It is reported that as early as April 2020, Hexcel's HexPly M79 prepreg has passed DNV GL certification. On this basis, the successful certification of HexPly M9 prepreg series provides customers with more prepreg processing options.
HexPly prepreg can achieve rapid curing at ≥100 degrees Celsius, and achieves an excellent balance between processability and mechanical properties. HexPly M9 prepregs are divided into high viscosity and medium viscosity, and can be made of various unidirectional, woven and multiaxial reinforcement materials. Matching with Hexcel's HexTow IMC2 and HexTow HM54/HM63 fibers, it can provide designers and engineers with optimized material selection for high-load composite structures such as masts and wing sails. The material has a high glass transition temperature (Tg) and has excellent long-term fatigue properties.
