The “Key Technology and Application of High-Strength and High-Conductivity Copper-Chromium-Zirconium Alloy Catenary Wire for High-speed Railways” developed by HBXH overcomes the contradiction between wire strength and electrical conductivity, and increases the speed of high-speed railways to more than 400 kilometers per hour. The second prize of the annual National Science and Technology Progress Award.

To make the catenary wire meet the requirements of flatness, it is necessary to increase the strength of the catenary wire while ensuring good electrical conductivity.

 

Previously, the most advanced wire on the market was the Japanese PHC wire, but Japan imposed a technical blockade on China in terms of wires.


 On December 8, 2010, the pilot section of the Beijing-Shanghai high-speed railway using copper-chromium-zirconium alloy catenary conductors achieved the world record of 486.1 kilometers per hour for the world's highest operating train test speed, marking that China's high-speed railway catenary technology has reached the world's leading level.

 

Experimental data show that compared with the Japanese PHC wire, the wire developed by HBXH has an 8% increase in strength and a 3% increase in conductivity. After 8 years of network operation, the actual operating data shows that the conductivity, tensile strength, fatigue resistance and other indicators of the high-strength and high-conductivity contact wire developed by HBXH are stable, which are in good agreement with theoretical calculations.
