In 1999, the R&D team of HBDL presided over the key project in the new material technology field of China's national plan "Key Technology of In-situ Emulsion Polymerization to Prepare Color Chemical Toner", and developed high-performance color polymerized toner, which filled the gap in China's printing consumables market. Toner is only five or six microns, which is smaller than dust. It is a common consumable for printing, copying, and all-in-one machines. Whether it is color laser printing or color digital copying, color polymerized toner is required. At that time, China could only produce black toner, and color polymerized toner was all imported.

In 2011, the HBDL R&D team finally succeeded in developing products that are compatible with color printing powder and copier powder. The new products are suitable for nearly 20 brand printers and more than 500 series of models from HP, Canon, Samsung, etc., filling the gap in China's printing consumables market. The key materials that plagued the field of laser printing and copying in China have been successfully conquered, changing the long-term color toner in one fell swoop. The dilemma that needs to be imported.
Over the past 10 years, HBDL has successfully developed seven generations of toners, ranging from suspension polymerization positively charged toners, to core-shell structure styrene-acrylic resin negative electrochemical toners, to polyester resin chemical toners.
Up to now, HBDL has produced a total of more than 15,000 tons of color chemical toner, becoming the first company in the world that can produce all chemical toners. HBDL's toner products not only have a market share of 90% in China, but also are exported to more than 20 countries such as the United States, Japan, the United Kingdom, and Italy, realizing the leap from import to export of high-end color polymerized toner in China.
The color toner project developed by HBDL won the "Major Technological Invention in Information Industry" and "First Prize of Technological Invention" by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of China in 2011.
