The new technology of eddy current damping developed in China has nearly 30 invention patents authorized worldwide

"At present, we are actively promoting the application and product development of new eddy current damping technologies in large-scale machinery, weaponry, rail trains, eddy current braking and other fields. We have developed military equipment and trains in cooperation with China Ordnance Group and CRRC Group. Vibration buffers, vehicle suspension vibration reduction systems, etc. have all entered the pilot stage of the product. Next, we will focus on the transformation of this technology in more fields and the product industrialization. Dampers are necessary equipment to solve vibration problems and ensure engineering safety and equipment performance. At present, the hydraulic oil damping technology commonly used in the engineering field manufactures dampers, which have problems such as oil leakage, short service life, and high maintenance costs. In order to solve the defects of this type of damper, Chen Zhengqing, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and a professor at Hunan University, creatively proposed the original concept of manufacturing dampers with the new technology of eddy current damping. This type of damper has the advantages of no contact, no friction, all metal, long life, no power supply, etc. It has unique advantages in the field of structural vibration control and shock buffer equipment. Up to now, the technology has been granted nearly 30 invention patents in 13 countries and regions around the world, including China, Japan, the United States, and the European Union.

Based on this new technology of eddy current damping, the R & D team has also developed two series of 7 series products of eddy current tuned mass dampers and axial dampers. Through patent implementation licenses and product industrialization, related products have been used in civil engineering at home and abroad. There are more than 40 projects, including the Shanghai Center Building, Beijing Daxing International Airport, the speed skating stadium project of the National Stadium in the Winter Olympics, and the NOOR Ⅱ solar collector tower in Morocco. In the past 5 years, through the patent implementation license, the cooperative manufacturer has also increased the contract value of the damper by more than 50 million yuan, and the company has achieved the contract value of more than 40 million yuan through the eddy current damping technology transformation.
