The nickel matrix alloy bimetallic composite pipes successfully applied to ultra-high sulfur gas fields Hay:D04XAXY

On June 6, 2023, China's ultra-high sulfur gas field, Tieshanpo Gas Field, fully reached production with a daily output of 4 million cubic meters of natural gas. Natural gas entered the national pipeline network and was transported to the Yangtze River Economic Belt region, marking a new breakthrough in the key core technology of China's ultra-high sulfur gas field development.

Due to the strong corrosiveness and high toxicity of high sulfur natural gas, the development of acidic gas reservoirs is technically challenging and requires high safety conditions. The safe, clean, and efficient development of ultra-high sulfur gas fields has always been a world-class challenge. Tieshanpo Gas Field actively explores and practices the development of geological theories, new material applications, digital gas fields, and the large-scale use of nickel based alloy corrosion resistant bimetallic composite materials.

XAXY Bimetal Composite Pipeline Technology Corporation provides nickel based alloy corrosion-resistant bimetallic composite pipe products for the Tieshanpo ultra-high sulfur gas field. It is a large-scale use of nickel based alloy corrosion-resistant bimetallic composite pipe in China and belongs to the third generation of bimetallic composite pipe.

Nickel based alloy corrosion-resistant bimetallic composite pipes retain the inherent advantages of two different materials. On the basis of traditional mechanical composite pipes, the aerospace insulation layer bonding and solidification technology is used to develop a high fatigue, long life, high-strength corrosion-resistant alloy and carbon steel polymer reinforced bonding material. The polymer is used for the bimetallic composite pipe base lining pipe, and successfully used for high sulfur gas field mining, achieving the upgrading of mechanical bimetallic composite pipe technology.

On July 13, 2013, the "Appraisal Meeting for Lining Nickel Base (Iron Nickel Base) Alloy Bimetal Composite Pipe" was successfully held. Conduct on-site identification of its recently successfully developed new corrosion-resistant pipeline product "lined nickel based (iron nickel based) alloy bimetallic composite pipe" for use in high sulfur environments.

The composite pipe is provided with third-party inspection services by Bureau Veritas International Inspection Group.

The "Nickel/Ni Fe Line/Clad CRA Pipeline" (API Spec 5L Base Pipe/NO8825 Liner Pipe with NO6625 Surface weld at Pipeline Ends, abbreviated as "Nickel/Ni Fe Line/Clad CRA Pipeline") is a new corrosion-resistant pipeline product successfully developed by XAXY for use in high sulfur environments. As the supervision service provider of the composite pipe, Bureau Veritas effectively ensures that the product fully meets the requirements of API Spec 5LC and 5LD standards.

Prior to this, under the comprehensive supervision of Bureau Veritas, XAXY adopted new technologies and processes to produce another new type of composite pipe (nearly 50 kilometers long) suitable for deep sea, which obtained a product inspection certificate from Bureau Veritas and achieved comprehensive success in the CNOOC PY35-1/35-2 project.
