The world’s first release of 1000 megapascal grade ultra-high strength magnetic yoke steel Hay:F05TGJT

Recently, China's leading manufacturer of ultra-high strength magnetic yoke steel plates, TGJT, released new products:

Ultra high strength magnetic yoke steel plates for high head and large capacity hydroelectric units

The head of a hydropower station refers to the difference in water levels between the upstream and downstream of the station. The higher the water head, the greater the difference in water level, and the corresponding increase in water pressure, resulting in higher requirements for the materials of hydroelectric units.

TGJT has been developing hot-rolled magnetic yoke steel and pole steel for hydroelectric generator rotors since 2008. In 2010, it developed 750 megapascals of magnetic yoke steel, which was first applied in the CCS project supplied by Harbin Electric Group to Ecuador and the Songbang unit supplied by Dongfang Electric Group to Vietnam.

Faced with the high standard requirements for magnetic yoke steel used in national key projects such as Baihetan and Wudongde, TGJT actively tackled challenges, solved a series of technical and quality problems, and created high-quality Taiyuan Iron and Steel characteristic products. We have provided tens of thousands of tons of high-quality magnetic yoke and pole steel products to the Baihetan and Wudongde projects, effectively supporting the construction of China's national level major projects and significantly improving the physical quality indicators of China's magnetic yoke and pole steel.

In 2021, TGJT will quickly respond to the new requirements of hydropower development on the lower reaches of the the Yarlung Zangbo River for ultra-high strength yoke steel above 900 MPa, and begin to develop ultra-high strength yoke steel for high head and large capacity hydropower units. After two years of effort and continuous improvement, TGJT became the world's first to develop 900 MPa and 1000 MPa grade ultra-high strength magnetic yoke steel products in 2023. It passed various performance tests and laser cutting tests, and successfully achieved its goals.

The successful development of this product is of great significance for supporting major national engineering construction, serving the development of clean energy in the country, and achieving the autonomy of high-end product materials in the hydropower industry.
