Thermoplastic resin distributor M. Holland incorporates BASF’s 3D printing solution

M. Holland (based in Northbrook, Illinois) is a major distributor of thermoplastic resins and is currently signing a distribution agreement with Innofil3D, a subsidiary of BASF's 3D Printing Solutions Group, to continue to enter the 3D printing materials market. This is the latest in a series of 3D printing materials distribution partnerships that will enable M. Holland's industrial manufacturing customers to access an expanding BASF 3D product portfolio.

This is the third time M. Holland has established such a partnership this year. It recently signed a distribution agreement with 3DXTECH, adding 24 engineering materials to its product portfolio. In May of this year, Owens Corning (Owens Corning, Europe's leading energy-saving market leader) appointed M. Holland as its general agent for XSTRAND series glass fiber reinforced products. M. Holland will also continue to invest in new 3D printing capabilities at its R & D center in Easton, Pennsylvania, and a dedicated 3D printing laboratory at the company's Northbrook headquarters.

As M. Holland's global expert in 3D printing and additive manufacturing engineering, Haleyanne Freedman said that not only does 3D printed parts or materials for customers, but also those who want to enter the field of 3D printing, but lack technical knowledge Consulting services for plastics processors and mold makers.

Freedman said: "Everyone is very interested in 3D printing and the industry is growing. As many printing patents expire, it is an open platform that attracts people and leads to greater demand. This is our The entry point, of course, the agreement is signed to provide materials and to teach technology to our customers. We work with them to determine the best machinery and processes, applications and material requirements. We help customers in their entry into additive manufacturing To achieve the greatest return on investment, and our agreement with BASF has played a significant role in driving this. "

Roger Sijlbing, sales manager of 3D printing solutions at BASF, added: "Our agreement with M. Holland provides a great opportunity for our knowledge of 3D printing solutions for automotive, aerospace and consumer products in the United States. At the 3D Printing Application Technology Center, we want to provide M. Holland customers with innovative solutions that combine 3D printing practices with new, profitable ways. "

Freedman commented that 3D printing is a "very useful and effective tool that can save costs and labor," but requires proper information on the capabilities of additive manufacturing technology.

"90% of what we do at M. Holland is consulting and teaching our customers," Freedman said. "Obtaining high-quality materials from companies with good R & D programs such as BASF helps us provide this information and education. 3D printing It's a very important technology. It's about making sure we properly integrate 3D printing into our customers' business models. "
