TORAYCA expands new TORAYCA®MX series of high compression strength and high elasticity carbon fiber: M40X

According to information from Toray ’s official website on November 19, Toray of Japan has developed new carbon fibers to achieve higher tensile strength and modulus. The TORAYCA® MX series will expand its product line. The company will also use MX series carbon fibers to introduce prepregs (high-performance resin-impregnated fabrics) to facilitate various applications. The new carbon fiber M40X announced this time, Toray Japan controls the internal structure of the fiber in nanometer units, while allowing the fine carbon crystals to be aligned in the same direction. M40X maintains the same modulus of elasticity as existing products while improving strength. The new carbon fiber has an elastic modulus of 377 GPa and a tensile strength of 5.7 GPa when processed into a bundle.
