Toray held a functional staple fiber promotion conference in Shanghai and released a series of newly developed polyester, acrylic, nylon special fiber and yarn fabric derivative products. Special seminars were also arranged at the meeting to interact with guests.
Toray's short fibers include polyester, acrylic, nylon special fibers, and PPS and PTFE.
Acrylic products have the characteristics of white color and easy dyeing. The final product can be developed from light to dark multi-colors, which is very suitable for application in clothing. Toray Acrylic has a series of products such as fine denier, anti-pilling, full matte, high shrinkage, fast-drying water absorption, antistatic and so on.
Polyester staple fiber products have various composite varieties and special-shaped cross-section varieties, such as full matte products with inner and outer layer composite structure, hollow structure products, triangular cross-section, flat multi-lobed products, etc. In order to cope with the pressure of environmental protection, Toray has developed recycled polyester staple fiber using recycled plastic bottles, with almost no difference in quality from ordinary polyester.
Nylon staple fiber has a composite variety of inner and outer layer structure, as well as fine denier and full matte products suitable for clothing. The inner and outer layer composite fiber uses polyester as the inner layer and nylon as the outer layer. It not only retains the abrasion resistance of nylon, but also has the characteristics that polyester is not easy to shrink. At the same time, its composite structure makes the product light and warm.
PPS staple fiber is superior to nylon, polyester and other products in terms of heat resistance, flame resistance and chemical resistance, and the price is lower than polyimide (PI). Toray PPS has a high-strength variety with a fineness of 0.9D. It is made into non-woven fabric in China and is widely used in the field of filter elements.
PTFE has a very high melting point, and its acid and alkali resistance is the best among synthetic fibers. At the same time, it has a low friction coefficient and good lubricity. Unlike cutting methods used by other companies, Toray products have superior performance in terms of thickness and uniformity of cross-section shape through the circular spinning method.
Motoichi Ishikawa, director of the Short Fiber Division of Toray Japan, said that this is the second time Toray has held a new product promotion conference in China. Toray has extended its products to many fields such as yarn, fabric, and clothing. At the same time, from the traditional B2B model to B2B2C, Toray is working with cooperating brands and retailers to develop products, and the terminal has directly faced consumers. Uniqlo's thermal underwear is a successful case. Uniqlo thermal underwear uses Toray's fabric for 98,000 meters a year. Toray hopes to use Uniqlo as an example to find high-quality partners in China.
