Total sells Atotech to The Carlyle Group for $ 3.2 billion

Total announced that it will sell its subsidiary Atotech to the Carlyle Group for $ 3.2 billion. As crude oil prices continue to slump, Total plans to sell $ 10 billion in assets by the end of 2017. As a plating company, Atotech is not part of Total's core business, so it was sold first.

It is understood that Atotech's main business is metal plating technology services and printed circuit board chemicals and equipment. Most of its customers are semiconductor and automotive companies, and it is the world's leading related service provider. The company has 18 production plants in Europe, the United States and Asia, with 2015 sales of 1 billion euros.
