UBE Industries Expanding nylon capacity again

With the growing global demand for polyamide films, the Japanese chemical group UBE Industries announced that its European subsidiary UBE Corporation Europe (UCE) plans to expand the nylon capacity of the Spanish plant again, increasing the original 40,000 tons annual capacity to 70,000 tons. The program will begin in 2018. After increasing production capacity in Europe, UBE can quickly respond to customers in Europe, North and South America.

In March last year, the group increased its annual production capacity of 10,000 tons of PA6 in Castellón in eastern Spain. At present, the annual production capacity of PA6 and PA66 resins at this production point has reached 22,500 tons.

UBE Corporation Europe also plans to set up another complex plant at the Castellón site, which is expected to officially begin production in August next year. The Spanish factory uses proprietary technology and equipment to manufacture various types of polymers and nylons with different viscosities. It is mainly used in technical applications such as automobiles, food packaging and the production of engineering components and fishing nets.
