China Ultra-thin cobalt based high-temperature alloy GH5188 sheet realized mass production Hay:A04PGJT

On March 12, 2022, Hay Think learned that PGJT has successfully overcome a series of technical bottlenecks in the industrial production of cobalt based high-temperature alloy thin slabs. It is the first in China to successfully develop a 0.5mm specification GH5188 cobalt based high-temperature alloy thin slab and achieve stable mass production, which can achieve import substitution.

 

GH5188 is currently the most widely used cobalt based deformation high-temperature alloy in China, suitable for making components for new aviation engines and new gas engine engines, with broad market prospects.

 

PGJT mastered the key core control technologies of this material in special smelting, homogenization, hot rolling, cold rolling, and microstructure and performance control, and successfully preparing 0.5mm specifications.

 

However, due to the high technical difficulty in developing GH5188 cobalt based high-temperature alloy sheets, the previous reliance was mainly on imports.

 

In order to break through foreign restrictions on the export of high-end high-temperature alloys and other blockades, the PGJT R&D team has undergone nearly a year of technical research and development, comprehensively mastering the key core control technologies of this material in special smelting, homogenization, hot rolling, cold rolling, and microstructure and performance control, and successfully preparing 0.5mm specifications.

 

GH5188 cobalt based high-temperature alloy sheet has achieved stable mass production and has been successfully applied in multiple research institutes and aviation engine manufacturers.
