China-made polyurethane artificial blood vessel successfully implanted into human body for the first time Hay:P02WHYS

On December 15th, the world's first polyurethane artificial blood vessel for the replacement of giant abdominal aortic aneurysm was successfully completed in Fuwai Hospital, Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences.

An important instrument used in surgery, artificial blood vessels, was developed and produced by WHYS Biotechnology Co., Ltd., which is the result of the company's 10-year scientific research results. This is also the first time that this blood vessel has officially undergone a human clinical trial and successfully replaced the diseased blood vessel in the human body.

With Fuwai Hospital as the lead unit and the participation of more than 10 top domestic hospitals, the blood vessel is expected to complete more than 200 clinical studies within 2 years, and finally achieve the product launch.

This blood vessel is a "three-layer bionic artificial blood vessel" independently researched and developed by China. The original idea of ​​polyurethane/polyester composite was first proposed by WH Textile University President Xu Weilin 15 years ago and transferred to WHYS after applying for a patent.

After 10 years of arduous scientific research transformation and industrialization by WHYS Dr. Ouyang Chenxi and the R&D team, rigorous registration inspections and animal experiments were finally completed at the Animal Experiment Center of China Inspection Institute and Fuwai Hospital, and all indicators conform to national standards.

The "polyurethane artificial blood vessel" developed by WHYS has achieved an innovative breakthrough in materials science and overturned the artificial blood vessel products that have dominated the world for more than 60 years with polyester and ePTFE as the main materials. This blood vessel is characterized by good flexibility, anti-needle bleeding, good anticoagulation effect, no adhesion to surrounding tissues, and a certain anti-infection effect, which almost overcomes the various defects existing in imported polyester artificial blood vessels. It is a revolutionary breakthrough in the field of artificial blood vessels.
