Hyosung said on October 12 that it had successfully developed a "H3065 (T-1000)" ultra-high strength carbon fiber with a tensile strength of 6.4 GPa and an elastic modulus of 295 GPa or more.

The strength of "H2550 (tensile strength 5.5 GPa, elastic modulus 250 GPa, T-700 grade)" carbon fiber, which Hyosung has been committed to producing, is more than 10 times that of steel


It is mainly used for hydrogen fuel tank, wire core materials, solar insulation materials, sports and other purposes. In contrast, the "H3065" carbon fiber developed this time is a special carbon fiber with ultra-high strength, which is more than 14 times stronger than steel.

In particular, ultra-high strength carbon fiber is considered as a necessary material for the development of aviation launch vehicles and satellites in the aviation industry.

Compared with the existing materials such as aluminum used in launch vehicles, this material is much lighter, and has higher elasticity and strength, so it can minimize the weight of launch vehicles, and can withstand high loads and improve propulsion.

At the same time, the advantage of carbon fiber carrier rocket is that it can carry less fuel by reducing weight, so it can increase the weight of carrier.

T-1000 carbon fiber requires high difficulty in overall engineering, such as raw material polymerization, spinning and firing, and requires differentiated technologies.
