Hollow glass microspheres were developed in the 1960s. They are an artificially synthesized single-cavity hollow spherical powder-like ultra-lightweight inorganic non-metallic material. As a new type of filling material, ultra-light and high-strength hollow glass beads are the key basic materials for preparing aerospace ablation materials, deep-sea exploration solid buoyancy materials, and high-frequency and high-speed electronic communication low-dielectric materials. They are known as "new materials in the space age" , The core production technology and high-end market controlled by foreign countries for a long time have become one of China's "bottleneck" materials.

In order to break through technical barriers and market monopoly, AHKS focused on China's strategic market demand, and in 2006 began to research the glass powder method to prepare high-performance hollow glass beads technology, in the national "863" project, national key research and development plan and provincial major scientific and technological projects Supported by such support, concentrated research, continuous breakthroughs, and after more than ten years of scientific and technological research, successfully developed the only core technology and key equipment for the industrial production of hollow glass beads prepared by glass powder method with independent intellectual property rights in China, and formulated and released China’s first hollow glass The industry standard of microbeads, and the industrialized mass production of ultra-light and high-strength hollow glass microbeads was realized in 2016.

At present, AHKS has built China`s first high-performance hollow glass microbead production line with an annual output of 5,000 tons of glass powder method. It has dozens of core products up to the international first-class level, and related products have been successfully applied to the 4500-meter deep-sea submersible "Hippocampus" , Aerospace engines, return capsule ablation materials, 5G high-frequency communication copper clad laminates and other fields have realized the localization of key raw materials for deep-sea exploration of solid buoyancy materials, aerospace ablation materials, and high-frequency and high-speed electronic communication low-dielectric materials, breaking The "bottleneck" of the application of light and high-strength hollow glass beads in the domestic high-end field has completely solved the national-level problem that ultra-light and high-strength hollow glass beads are completely dependent on imports.
